Tesco dented my car!

Banter goes here, and doesn't have to be Lude related

Well I finally got a result... sort of...

They still refuse to accept liability on the basis of the evidence (my photographs didn't show the car actually being hit by the sign, and the CCTV cameras happened to be focused elsewhere in the car park); however, rather than lose a customer because of this - they have agreed to give me £100 as a gesture of goodwill.

It's not quite what I was hoping for, but it should be enough to pay for the dent removal (hopefully) - considering it's only a small dent; in fact I might even give it a go myself with the 'ding king' kit my wife bought me years ago; but the main thing is that I can now put this whole thing behind me and shop at the store again (it was becoming a pain having to shop elsewhere, especially now we've moved house and the only store for miles is Tesco).

I've learnt a lesson; in future, rather than having to go through the hassle of sending countless emails, making phone calls and boycotting stores, if anything like this happens again I will take plenty of photographs at the scene and then go into the store and report it promptly.

Hey that's good news, glad to hear it has been sorted. That's the kind of sensible response I was expecting them to make as it was minor damage.

Excellent, like I said, after not accepting their initial standard rejection, it will reach the point where to them, it's just cheaper to pay up!

Nb: if it happens again but the next time you instead try and report in store... my money is on them telling you to ring their central customer services anyway

Aye, I bet they would... they're awkward enough. Hopefully it'll never happen again though - well I'm definitely not parking near any signs again

That's one way to look at it.

Another is that there's 3146 Tesco stores on the UK (Yes, I looked it up) so that's a potential £314,600 out there. Get cracking.
