Banter goes here, and doesn't have to be Lude related

That's not exactly a dodgy MOT. I've had bent tickets in the past, I'm sure most people remember the old days of leaving a £20 note in the ashtray for a guaranteed pass, that was a dodgy MOT more often than not. I've had cars go through that needed 4 new tyres, and even had a Landrover go through with a shattered window (it broke on the way there, 200 yards from the test centre!! ) Best one was an old Chevy of mine and the brakes were only plumbed in for the front so I could do burnouts on it

Yes bud did you sell them 10 days later hiding the problem?

It's defiantly not worth kicking up a fuss but I also did not want to just leave it :?

This ^^^ There are things you might 'hide' when selling a car, but something dangerous like faking the ABS working, is not at all on. I completely agree on that one!

Posted this once but something must have gone awol. You have a month for non rust related issues and 3 months for rust I do believe so get a move on and see what happens. Cost of car is of no issue whatsoever . You cant put a price on somebodys life at the end of the day.

On another note I hate abs and all cars with it functioning should be burnt. ;)

I've never trusted greenies...

You've had a lucky escape, really. If plod had have found out after you'd crashed it...

But you didn't, so got away with it.

Of course, you cannot prove anything. Go fill his gaff with carbon dioxide. Or particulates; stuff a jumper in its air filter & rev it up at his letterbox.

You could blame the MOT place but they'll say it was fine when they tested it. The ownerr yes but what are you going to get from him other than the probable 'take me to court routine'? I'd be more pissed at myself for not noticing that the ABS light did not light and go out when I took the car for a spin. Assuming you did of course.......................

Personally I would just remember which garage it was.. "friendly" MOT testers are hard to find these days ;)

If ABS is disconnected or removed from the car, it is not part of the MOT.

If the light does not come one, the tester can quite easily assume one of the above.

Just a thought. :)

I thought that the new mot law said if it's fitted from standard then it must be functional?

I'm goin to try fitting the sensor at the weekend and I've been told it's a pita so I want to see if someone's tryed and failed before reporting anything.
