Get you with your 90bhp Golf! Mine only came with 75bhp and that was in 1991 :?

LOL, well mine might have a bit more than 90, accidentally socketed the ECU and stuck one of those dodgy ebay chips in it

Goes so much better now, might even have 100bhp..

I had a run with a mk5 gti just a few days after I got the Prelude and left him, he wasn't best pleased!

Woah! :? This has turned into rather a Golf bashing thread all of a sudden! Where did that come from???

For the record; I like the look of a Mk1 Gti and Mk2 GTi 16v. I think they're good looking cars and had a deserved reputation for the time for being something 'a bit special' - definitely worthy of classic status.
After that though, they are just dull, fat, heavy and overpriced! ;)
(The bits I don't like much about the Mk1 and 2 though is the shocking lack of equipment and IMO, the interior design of the Mk2 already looked dated when it was new :? )

I think driving anything mk3 onwards is just pure snobbery, like they feel better than everyone else purely because the drive a golf? It's not that special n I'd sooner have my lude any day of the week. No competition.

Because creating an exclusive set of what is acceptable and then generalising everyone that doesn't have something in that set, and then implying that what you have is superior anyway isn't pure snobbery?
