Lol.
Can't say nothing until you tried it, and even if you try it now you will always diss the thing..
When I bought my car of Adam first, I thought it handled well and then Ratty drove it.. :O and I realised it was capable of a lot more. I'm not a professional driver and don't even do any track day driving so Atts is perfect for me. It lets me enjoy corners and driving safely on public roads.
If you want more power then get something else like a EVO or Subaru. For a FWD, 230-280bhp is enough and Atts can handle that all day.

The only thing I can say for certain is that shATTS owners are REEEEEAAAAAAAAAALLLY touchy
Am I the only one that thought Ted's post was yes, obviously deliberately leading in its phraseology, but also a genuine - 'Tell me why you like it so much?' type post? I was actually quite interested, but it does seem like a very touchy subject and god knows why, you buy a car for you, right?
I'm staying out of any pissing contests, in fact the last time I even mentioned shATTS and 4WQueer in the same sentence people started deciding that I was somehow having a dig (even though I have '4WQueer'
) and somehow knew all about me and what I had and hadn't driven?!

Drive what you want peeps, any prelude is a good car, pick the flavour that suits you.

since it was my birthday yesterday and my mrs took me out for the day it felt a bit rude to have my head stuck in my phone replying to these posts that somehow totally avoided my question of why do you think its so good.
having DRIVEN one i can't see what all the fuss is about.
LLL wrote "Unqualified arguments face a paddlin'
"
nope no paddlin just some very defensive drivel,
LLL also wrote this" Maybe in the hands of a 'professional' an lsd will get you round a track faster but none of us are and none of us are on track all the time."
but pete had already wrote this "Well I've been on track against him and while he's a good driver the cars only putting out 200 against my 236 so I completely destroyed it on the track and that was with my stock m2a4 open diff, I'm now 5-6 secs a lap faster hehehe"
so that leads me to the conclusion that some extra power is worth more than atts
LLL wrote "On real roads with real corners and real tarmac changes and real potholes I know a type S would spank a 4WS and would pull on an LSD equipped car of the same power. "
yeah real roads and real corners is what im interested in, what you get up to on grand turismo i have no interest in this is the real world james
Mudgey wrote "I have driven both a standard UK VTI and a Type S (currently have it without ATTS) and whilst I cannot compare ATTS against an LSD I can say that the differences in the revised front suspension makes the car less likely to push on the front end, I can take corners so much quicker in the Type S. The type S is not just about the ATTS, it also has a host of other features that make the car a little different than the other models.
The power limitation is one of the reasons why I went with a different engine completely. The car will have an LSD fitted towards the end of the year and so should not have any trouble getting the power down out of corners any longer!"
which is showing some other advantages of the type s but ditched the atts in search of more power from and engine change and an lsd to come.
then LLL wrote more rubbish about blowjobs
ratty wrote "Whats all this power limiting nonsense. You lot says it puts you off buying a Type S yet your still running stockish power on your other Preludes, so if you actually bought a Type S would you then add power. I am. Im currently close to 230bhp. When remapped a hell of alot more.
There are only a few cars on here running more than 250bhp. You can run as much power as you want in a Type S without issues. You cant run high amounts of torque though. But when i say that i mean like 10psi off a turbo power and at that point i would be worried about ATTS but our amazingly stong ringlands.
Trust me when i say power isnt an issue with ATTS cars, For uber high power then yes but they that defeats the point of a fine handling FRONT wheel drive car.
Onto the ATTS any good debate. You cant have an opinion until you have tried it. Simple as.
I like it, i like it alot. I will like it alot more soon."
so is atts worth the extra expense it costs to get more power from a type s over a lsd car ?
honda hardy wrote lots of stuff, a lot of it was in bold "Not being a track monkey or striving for "more power", I find that the type s is a superb all round daily.
Points by tramroad.
1. its the reason why you can't achieve loads of power because your ecu won't let you.
Its ample for a daily drive imo, I achieve 31-33mpg on average per tank full, more than I have in any other lude I have owned. Also beats many newer cars at the lights. And corners. And straights. "
totally agree with that sam but thats why you don't understand the abs bit.
nitin seems to agree with james to a certain degree and likens the type s to having a blowjob with a condom on, its the safe option.
and bennyboy i have to agree with you totally on the touchy bit.
so to sum up if you want the ULTIMATE prelude BUY THE TYPE S
take the seats out of it for a highly tuned 4th gen lsd car and burn the rest
