I was referring to sticking rattys bonnet spoiler on instead of using tape

You know this Hiro spoiler came on with 3m tape, before I bolted it on too!!! The guy before who had brought it, drove miles down the motorway with it like this. I dedcided not to risk this as you could imagine!!

Oh and sorry about my previous comment thought you were on about my selling on ebay

 Such a classic. Mind you it is fairly strong stuff. Most of the stick had gone the time I put it on my lude. Anyway when I came to take the spoiler off after unbolting it, it was still stuck on strongly. I had to give it a massive yank twice to get it off! So I can imagine the stuff is pretty strong and will hold it on ok in actull fact. I could quite as easily kept on driving with the bolts off and it wouldn't off come off imho. So when stick is new, it must be mega strong! I understand the idea afterall.......Tis funny though ;)

With the bolts being there, the adhesive has no work to do actually holding it on all that time, of course... ;)

No its not a spoiler for lift or downforce. The shape isnt able to create that effect. WIthout actually proof of course i wont know but the holes are shaped and angled towards the pillars which leads me to believe its designed to create nice vortexs over the sides so it wont effect rear drag.
wurlycorner wrote::? Do you not also get some negative pressure in that area at the back of the bonnet, on account of the air being deflected up over the windscreen?
That being the reason why windscreen wipers have a tendancy of lifting (rather than pressing too hard) :?

But  on the automatic extra 20 bhp just from fitting the spoiler!!!
On 5th Gen Prelude the wipers are below the bonnet line so no lifting. Also the centre section of the spoiler is flat so it wont create any pressure difference.

We need wind tunnel proof of course.

Ill see about drilling my bonnet. Drilling metal is a PITA especially through 2 skin.
