No its not a spoiler for lift or downforce. The shape isnt able to create that effect. WIthout actually proof of course i wont know but the holes are shaped and angled towards the pillars which leads me to believe its designed to create nice vortexs over the sides so it wont effect rear drag.mercutio wrote:so the air that flows through the holes wont lift it?
On 5th Gen Prelude the wipers are below the bonnet line so no lifting. Also the centre section of the spoiler is flat so it wont create any pressure difference.wurlycorner wrote:Do you not also get some negative pressure in that area at the back of the bonnet, on account of the air being deflected up over the windscreen?
That being the reason why windscreen wipers have a tendancy of lifting (rather than pressing too hard)
Buton the automatic extra 20 bhp just from fitting the spoiler!!!
We need wind tunnel proof of course.
Ill see about drilling my bonnet. Drilling metal is a PITA especially through 2 skin.
