Nitin, get the insurance to give you a cheque for their estimated costs of repairs, and get Ratty to come by in his van and get you sorted, and once he's done that, he can do his scuffsaway thing and fix the scuffs and dents on your lude too

best to get a witness in these situations
he will turn around say its your fault, they always do
get that cctv footage, if you can
most places are not that interested in giving you footage

The police won't be interested in helping obtain it though as it's a purely civil matter (and tbh they'd take be so slow processing that it would delay it too long anyway, even if they were to decide to help!) so you'd need to approach Sainsbury's direct.
By law, they should have a policy about how they use cctv, but I can't find it anywhere (probably don't publish it). I seem to recall generally under this area you have to right to obtain any footage relating to you, but it's reasonable for them to require you to give accurate information as to when/where it was (to save them excessive time tracking it down) and they'll need to verify that the footage does relate to you, before they release it. Think they can also charge you reasonable costs for providing you with the footage???
The only thing I could find on line was their privacy policy, which seems to be primarily only focused on on-line sales and nectar;
http://www.sainsburys.co.uk/sol/iw_cont ... re_PP.page
It does state this though, in relation to 'data' held about you: "You have the right to see what is held about you and correct any inaccuracies."
Either way, if you want it, best off contacting the store asap...
Doesn't sound like you'll need it though?
