Cruise control and lights

Post by c_doughty1 » Sun Apr 20, 2014 8:31 pm

Ok had cruise control working today and it started to get overcast so I turned my lights on. This turned off cruise control....weird I thought so tested it a few times. Every time I turn on the lights it turns off the cruise control and if the lights are already on then cruise control won't turn on at all.....ideas?

I think each lude has its own quirks.

For instance, mine won't start if the wipers are on! If you hold the key in the start position nothing happens, but as soon as the wipers park, the starter motor bursts into life!!

Just looking at the wiring diagram. The only connection between the CC and the lights is the dimming switch/circuit. Manual page 23-357. But without testing and probing with a meter, I am not sure where or how the fault is connected :?

Yeah, I have his old car. Very good knowledge of these cars, given he stripped and rebuilt this one!

:? Both faults (yours and Gayno's starting one) sound like earth faults to me?
I hate earth faults. They can be a right arse to track down...
