Me, @Vanzep and @3rd gen steve were at Knockhill on Sunday watching the Scottish Motor Racing Club series. In the Sport and Saloons race there was an Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT car taking part. Check out its sound! It was lapping in ~50 seconds, 10 seconds a lap faster than I can manage in the Prelude
Nice and loud, but tbh I think I preferred the sound of the westfield.
I prefer a bit more 'grunt' rather than 'scream'.
I've seen classes like that before where there's one car that just so much faster that it ridiculously outclasses everything else and I'm always left wondering the same thing... For the owner/driver of it, what's the point exactly? Well done, you've turned up with a car worth ten times as much as everyone else and surprise surprise, it's much much quicker than them all. Well done... So there's absolutely no sense of any competition, so where's the fun? You might as well have just turned up on a track day and be pounding round, rather than spending money entering a competitive event? I just don't get it...
I think the Aston Martin was invited to come along for the spectacle. There was a 900bhp Focus (the one that competes in SLS) there too which was lapping not far off the pace of the Aston.
my favourite clip of a car noise is still the Aston Martin DBRS9 when it went round the Top Gear racetrack - I turn up the TV to ridiculously loud every time I see that
