2.0 - 2.2 conversion

Post by IntriguedUser » Fri Apr 17, 2015 11:28 pm

I can't seem to find ANY 2.2 Prelude's around? If I do its already been sold, and I'm so busy! I do keep seeing good 2.0 models around.

How much would it cost to convert a 2.0 into a 2.2? I understand the dashboard tacho would need changing, and lots of other labour intensive stuff? Everyone says I'm better off just buying a 2.2, but I can't find any.

Would a company like PAW assist in finding a donor engine and so on? Or am I on my own in regards to finding an engine, transportation and so on?

There are plenty of vtec 5th gens around?
Where are you looking?

There's no need to change the tacho.
Engine, engine loom, ECU.
Job done.
(Though on a 5th gen I think it gets a bit more complication 'cause of ECU's being coded to the ignition key as well?)

You also need to swap the hubs and brakes over, as a 2.2 has bigger brakes.
