Chris Evans as main presenter. Well you have to give Ginger nobs equal opportunities!

I bet you most of the UK (even non-TG fans) will watch the first one as all this hoo-ha with Clarkson is front page news. The ratings for it will be sky-high with everyone tuned in, anxiously awaiting a train wreck of a show.
Or, and I may be being a bit controversial here, new format, new ideas and new presenters may bring a fresh perspective to the show.

Like a handy after years of blowies.
Its not as good, you know its not as good but you still know its better than nothing at all so you enjoy what you are given. I love Clarkson but maybe, just maybe it could work. I have never really liked Evans but that goes back to being woken up by the twonk every morning through school on the old radio alarm; but thats not to say it couldn't work. For a series maye...
Clarkson will spend a few years in the wilds like Evans and Edmonds did and will be back in no time. OK so he is in his twilight and will come back a bit like Brucie but who cares?

BBC selling a dummy perhaps?
Evans in as a stop gap until the Clarkson dust settles, then Evans leaves show due to 'pressures of other commitements' and low and behold, Mr. Clarkson takes up the host role again!

I've never found that Evans boasts about how much money he has, at all. He's also the only car enthusiast I know of, that regularly lets other people ('ordinary people' too) drive his massively valuable classics.
He has massive boots to fill, so you need someone with enough confidence, 'verve' and experience in making entertainment shows, to pull it off. He was always the front runner for me.
I'm sure it'll be fine and it might even be better - the last series of TG was actually back on good form, whereas the previous couple to that, had seemed a bit tired tbh. Either way, we'll all still watch it. I expect the Beeb will have to take a cut in income on selling it abroad for a series or so, though.
The co-presenters is more of question mark though... Who on earth could that be?

I couldn't care less if I'm honest, the last few series have been crap. Found myself doing other things while watching, whereas before I'd get pissed off if someone talked to me while I was watching. It would be best if it ended here, but money is money, and the BBC will milk this one till it's totally dead, and likely despised as an atrophied abomination that's completely unrecognisable as the show it once was.
