God loves ludes

Post by mercutio » Mon Jun 22, 2015 8:56 pm

Well today i came as close as i have ever come to being wiped out and not just me but the car as well.

I was driving to work on the motorway doing motorway speeds ;) i had good distance between me and the car in front no problem there, I also was looking 2 to 3 cars ahead no problem there.
Three cars ahead was a black Audi sportwagon i saw his brakelights come on with nothing ahead of him so i covered the brake then the other 2 cars jammed on  i started to brake i had decent distance between me and the car in front no issue there.
Out of the corner of my eye i saw a wheel heading for the kerb on the hard shoulder at a high rate of knots just as the audi started to take a sharp left.
The wheel hit the kerb and bounced back into the air looping about 30 feet into the air i remember thinking wow thats going to take someone out as it started to come back down i was still braking when i realized it was heading for me!!
I hit the accelarator and jinked left without thinking if there was a car to the left of me as i jinked left the wheel hit the ground beside my door it bounces back at a shallower angle fast this time as i jinked right back properly into my lane the wheel went over the boot of my car i could read the lettering on the tyre as it went past the rear window it was a pirelli cinturato  i watched it go across the lanes and hit a fence before coming to rest on the verge i stopped and a copper pulled up alongside asked if i was ok and said he didnt know how it missed me i was still shaking when i got to work

Something similar happened to me
I was driving on the motorway in the fast lane and noticed something out the corner of my eye.....a fencepost
Someone must have driven over the pointed end throwing it up in the air, i swerved right , almost onto the central reservation and i heard it hit the roof pillar
Got to where i was going and got out and checked the damage, at first i never seen any on the roof pillar then my mate, who was in the passenger seat, noticed it had caved the front wing in
drokk knows where the fencepost came from originally
Off the back of a lorry

If there is a God then he/she should be more concerned with other issues, not a poxy Prelude
