Goodwood FOS 2015 - couple of highlights for now

Post by wurlycorner » Mon Jun 29, 2015 11:06 pm

Loads of pics taken as usual - and as usual will probably take me a year to get round to not uploading them all :lol:

But a quick one for now, this car was the highlight of the show for me. Fiat S76.

(that pic not taken by me, 'cause I haven't uploaded them yet!)

It was there last year in the paddock with the restoration incomplete, but this year it was running for the first time in 100 years.
It is a drokking awesome machine 8-) and not just because it's 28.5 litres - it does something that even babs and the railton don't do;

:twisted:

It is just immense :twisted:
That was on the flat from the start line, you should have seen it on the hill with the foot down. Amazing flames, amazing noise and genuinely fast especially considering the size, weight and age of the thing!
Loved it 8-) 8-) 8-)

A close second was watching the Darracq 200hp in the shootout final on Sunday afternoon.
110 years old, given a right proper thrashing. Watching this thing drifting out needing opposite lock on the corners was amazing and it was incredibly quick - faster than a GT40 up the hill 8-)
Skip to 2:27:52 on here;

That misses the biggest drift out, which was just before that footage starts unfortunately, but still - absolutely mental 8-)
