Rubbing niose from near side rear wheel
Hi guys
Over the last week or so I have notice that at very low speeds (1st and 2nd gear) I seem to hear like a rubbing noise from my rear near side wheel. Its a constant rubbing noise like metal is touching something. The pads have been recently changed on the rear so I don't think its them.
Its a bit of a generic problem to state but Im not sure of the specifics to write them down for you here.
It will probably get checked out on the weekend but just thought if you guys could give me a heads up on what the issue could be atleast that way im prepared.
Cheers guys

Lo
When I got my Lude lowered I got a noise on my nearside rear wheel , took me ages to find out what it was
It ended up being the tyre rubbing against the plastic moulding on the inside of the arch where the rear bumper attaches to the body.
Simply cut it down with a hacksaw , noise gone
Probably not your problem , but you never know
Cheers

Cheers mate - but it sounds more like a metal rubbing noise.

Yep, or rear heat shield against the back of the hub. I had this on my 4g.
Will try and find pics...
EDIT:
I've looked and realised there are several years worth of updates that I haven't done to that profile thread!

But anyway, I've dug out the pics themselves... (maybe this will give me a kick up the arse to update the profile thread too, at some point
)
Here;

Cause being corrosion between the back of the heat shield and the hub itself;

Might very well not be that, but something to check if you get no-where else

Also will the car still be driveable for a few weeks or is it an urgent fix?
The noise seemed to vanish for a bit this morning and then came back lol
