Hi all,
Just curious as I'll be replacing my cat with an aftermarket ebay one as whatever supports the honeycomb in the exhaust pipe has failed causing a horrible rattling noise.. All the honeycomb still appears to be present tho.
So was wondering if any of you have scrapped a 5th gen cat? And how much you got for it. I assume the 2.0 and the 2.2 is the same but mine's a 2.0.
Congratulations to vtecmec for winning May/June's Lude Of The Month, with his DIY Turbo BB1 build.

I've scrapped a cat before (not from a lude, from something else - the cat was physically bigger).
Have had a look for the receipt but can't find it atm.
It wasn't much though - you're definitely not going to get rich, put it that way...

That makes absolutely no sense, considering you can buy them for less than that, new

From what I've found out the aftermarket cats aren't made with the same "precious metals" as the Honda factory ones. Or any car's factory cats. So most original cats are worth a good bit in scrap, especially EP3s and Jazzs as they seem to get nicked a lot.wurlycorner wrote: ↑Sun Jun 07, 2020 1:00 pmThat makes absolutely no sense, considering you can buy them for less than that, new![]()
