Bonnet Spoiler. Use or ornament?

Wondering if the bonnet spoiler has a use, and aids downforce, or just a pretty ornament.

Always thought about buying one, but genuine ones seem to be as rare as hen’s teeth these days!

I think they are quite unique in their way as you dont see bonnet spoilers on any other car that I know of.
They must add a bit of downforce.
I have a wings west one which is a direct copy but in much stronger material. You can still buy them new from usa.

I think that is the appeal. Might put one on my Christmas shopping list.

If you do get one bolt it down don't glue it as someone glued mine and now I can't get it off

OEM bonnet spoiler helps the air flow to direct it around the pillars so you get less wind noise at high speeds and ofcourse looks good too.
