No idea about that stuff, but, just as a reminder of what you already know...

don't forget to check the insurance and (If applicable there/still) the European Health Passport thing.

Have a good trip. I bet a lot of Lithuania is beautiful.

I can't see why not - that's the idea of the tear off slip (provides legal evidence that you're the registered owner as of 'x' date) though it would probably be more difficult to explain to a foreign plod!!!

No, the little green slip is not enough.

You need to visit your local DVLA office and get them to issue you with a temporary registration document.

It's also advisable to carry all parts of your driving licence, and the insurance documents for the car as well.

No problem, I had to do the same a couple years back after buying a car then needing to drive on the continent a week later.

Your full V5 should come back within a couple of weeks, so it depends when your trip is really.

You can reapply for it, here's the form:

http://www.direct.gov.uk/prod_consum_dg ... 067819.pdf

Check section D:
You do not have to pay a fee in the following circumstances.

•If you are the new keeper and the previous keeper failed to tell us
about the change, you must have the New keeper’s details section
(V5C/2) from the V5C and send it to us with this application form.
Print off the form, fill in the details and take it to your DVLA office, get your temp document (tell them you're going abroad in the next week) and get them to file the V62 form for you :)
