Hot hatches like the Focus ST + RS, Meganes etc...are selling well, and some of them aren't far off 300bhp. So I guess they have to make the new Civic pretty close in power to them at the very least.

In a release Honda says the future Civic Type R will make use of the “technologies developed through Honda’s participation in the World Touring Car Championships (WTCC).”

If Honda were not to build another R they would be missing a major trick - there is such a massive following for all of the R models in the UK alone never mind further afield. All of the big manufacturers have a flagship hot hatch - Honda needs to appease its buyers with one too. Will be interesting to see how they work the Turbo to hark back and keep onside VTEC lovers while make the car as equal to or better its previous incarnations :twisted:

Just hope they do something with that ar$e - it's not a pretty sight :facepalm:
