My money is on oil pump as engine management light came on then the oil light started flickering. Did a cel check and it throught up oil pressure switch, 22. Changed that with your super clean solenoid and cel went but oil light kept flickering after it getting up to temp.......Plan of action is oil pump to fix the problem of low oil pressure and vtec engagement, oh with the added benefit of stopping my engine from destroying itself. Combined that with cam belt and water pump as i have no choice.
Can anyone else think of anything i should do to fix this?

just dont drive it mate, this is what my very first question was regarding

my oil light used to come on when my engine was up to temp - when the oil had heated up and become more viscous so a drop in pressure revealed itsself, unfortunately i was on the motorway on my way home from collecting my car from PAW for the second time when it happened with no real choice but to just carry on and get home

just get the pump and belts done and hopefully no damage has been done

Agreed, if you think the oil pressure switch i u/s, don't run the engine any more, you risk doing major damage.

Sorry to hear it's looking like that
