4th gen gear shift washers

Post by wurlycorner » Fri Jan 16, 2015 2:57 pm

Hi all,

Somehow I've managed to lose a couple of washers from the gearshift on my BB4 and I could do with getting the interior re-assembled really...

It's part numbers 15 on here (shown as same number, but I think actually 2 different washers, one of which has a hole to match the flats on the shaft, rather than a round hole).

Anyone got these they can let me have please? If you have the split pin I'll take that too

nb: this has to be off the metal style shift linkage (number 10) the plastic style shift linkage (number 11) has a different pin/washers)

Iain, what's the I/d and O/D of the washers, may be able to help with st/st items I have, from memory I have M3 to M12 . May be able to help with split pin too. Can't help with matching the flats, tho' .

O.K, matey, hope it goes well. Use plastic bags next time to keep like items together, nightmare matching up, otherwise.

I did use plastic bags. Problem was there was distance between where the shifter came off one car and went onto the other (one was on my drive, the other was in the barn) and I was also bagging up bits for the gearshift stuff I was selling, which I obviously took a lot more care over to be absolutely sure that the buyer got everything they needed/had paid for!
Plus this was around the time I had a 3g manual box and shift cables etc. delivered, so tons of very similar bits all turning up together at the same time...
I'll have it somewhere, but buggered if I can find it. It might have gone in with the 3g bits somewhere, which means it's buried somewhere at the barn and won't turn up until the 3g gets worked in in anger.

I may have some in my mass of spare parts. I'll have a look tomorrow if you're still in need of them?
