Post by mercutio » Wed Jun 03, 2015 9:54 pm

i need a 5g alternator as my car decided to blow its alternator tonight while i was rushing home to get some stuff for my missus who had just been admitted to hospital

I suppose it was better than it going at motorway speeds on a side not a weird set of dash lights to say the alternator had gone Battery light (expected) 4ws (well i suppose it comes on for every other problem) cat temp sensor whats all that about???
Anyway i need one urgent

I wonder what one you will need being a black top JDM H22a? The UK H22a5 uses the CJU75 while the H22a8 and JDM Type-S uses the CJV72.

CJV72 brand new? http://www.startermotor-alternator.com/view/a2285-280

Edit - I don't think it matters what one you get, both seem to have the same part number (31100-P5M-G02)

CJU75 - http://www.lingshondaparts.com/honda_ca ... k_03=23240
CJV72 - http://www.lingshondaparts.com/honda_ca ... k_03=23399

How many amps does the alternator need to be, I've seen 70amp, 90 amp and 100amp

Unless you're running a big ICE setup, 70 is fine.

I have one for sale. Off an A5, fully working never let me down. Make me an offer. :)

Install my new 100amp alternator tonight. Solved all my electrical issue except for my auto gear box issues.
