An H22a then? They are in the JDM BB4 & BB1. There is no reason you cant use a H22a from a JDM SIR 5th gen either. All the engines from those models are essentailly the same although there are a few differences that are easy to over come, especially if you have a load of 4th gen spare parts to convert a 5th gen engine.

it needs crank seal doing, as well as a number of other very awkward time consuming jobs done, and the engine is already partly in bits and all the mechanics he knows will not commit the time to help him finish it
so better option is to find a complete working h22 and drop it straight in, then sell the old one to recoup some of the cash as he's not up to fixing it himself, and i dont blame him lol
