I had a standard 5th gen, and it was lovely to drive.
I bought another 5th gen thats been lowered on springs only, and the ride is so under damped its terrible, and also far too low. So low that the exhaust has been damaged on a speed bump. I stupidly sold on the original springs that the previous owner gave to me.
Looking around, brand new coil overs are north of 5 or 600quid. What have people got, and what is the comfort like? I need to make my car enjoyable again, at the moment speed bumps/car parks/potholes/roads that aren't perfect are just awful.
What have people got before i splash out on something new?
Congratulations to vtecmec for winning May/June's Lude Of The Month, with his DIY Turbo BB1 build.

Hi
I fitted Eibach springs to mine on standard springs and they have been great.
When I bought my car it did have a smoother softer ride on standard springs but it also had 14" wheels compared to 17" I have now.
This may make a bigger differance than the springs , not sure.
I have never had coilovers on a car so can't comment really.
Cheers

Re: Wanted - 5th gen suspension (coilovers)
If you go for coilovers, i recommend meister-R's. I own the cheapest option of coilover (zeta-s i believe), and for road performance I think they're good value for money.

There's a couple of guys on here with that set up
I drove a lude with that set up. It drove really well and it was fun having the edfc to play with/would be very, very convenient for initial set up (no stop, fumble around in the boot, drive it again, fumble around under the bonnet, drive it again etc...) . Tbh, can't see myself using it much once I had it set to how I wanted though - unless you're going to frequently be swapping between track day and road use.
The major downside on Tein's is that the bodies corrode like absolute drokk!
