are you sure the pump has gone? and it's not just low fluid levels, or a fuse gone etc. - just before you put your hands in your pocket thats all

Yeah I think I’ve ruined it myself to be honest, alternator went last week so I got a brand new one and fitted it, had to take ps pump off to get to the alternator.
Fitted it all back together, forgot to bleed the system and I’m pretty sure I starved the pump of fluid, now it’s very very loud and wining at me. Tried bleeding the system for any air pockets but nothings working
The belt feels tight so I don’t think it’s slipping?
I fixed one problem but created another lol

ah gutted! yeh i had to swap the alternator on my 5g a few months ago but i just moved the PS pump aside still on its hoses so i didnt have to completely disconnect it.
have you definitely got enough PS fluid, the level is above minimum on the tank even when the engine is running?

Do you mean the high pressure outlet (where it comes out the top and runs past the timing belt side of the engine back to the rack)?
If that's the only difference, that part bolts on/off, so should be able to swap it from the old 4th gen pump.

unfortunately the fitment brackets are a different alignment (4g one are on the same alignment, 5g is about an inch or two further out) as i found i have a spare 5g one to hold next to my 4g one....so that's the good news lol as danny your welcome to take this one. i have no idea if it works though so just cover the cost of the postage if you'd like it
