Orginal rubber prelude 2.3i air pipe for air filter needed!

Post by Peachy » Fri Mar 08, 2013 5:00 pm

As in the title. I am desperate for a new rubber airpipe as mine somehow had spilt right through, and as a result had to cut away the bit spilt and attach a universal cone air filter to the end of it. That only that but its far from a perfect fit as it is now, and air not being filted i fear is being sucked in as well. I really dont want to run the lude for long like this, so if anyone has or knows anyone selling rubber orginal air pipe for the 2.3i 16v lude [92-96] please let me know asap.

I am in desperate need for one so i can attach back to my standard airfilter, and stop unfiltered air entering the compolents.

Cheers Peachy

They do have a different part number on lings, but I can't think what on earth the difference would be?

Looking at the one on my 2.2's, that big rubber block/cable clip that sticks up on yours near where the kickdown cable comes over the top, isn't there. But as your car doesn't seem to use that I wouldn't think that's a big deal at all?

I suppose it's possible the throttle body is a different diameter???

Good good. Just been for a run in the car with the universal cone on and guess what....

Its running better, serious and the sound is immense. MMMMM so surprised, i may keep it like this afterall. Covered the gaps letting air in. Better acceleration and kickdown has more throttle to it. Who the hell would of thought it!!

And yes dbo the electronic supercharger went ages ago, pile of jobby. Allways learn the wrong way it seems!

Question: Do you think its ok to run my lude as it is, or could it be worth going back to normal with the pipe i orginally wanted? Confused.com about it all!

Its just a standard ripspeed cone [halfords], where as i had a k&n filter in my box!!! I really dont get it.
