Dan, minimum stand is 5 cars, we currently have 9 people expressing interest.

Now you've dropped out that's one less, so by doing so that could ruin it for everyone else.

People on here complain about how we don't grow as a club, and how our stands look "amateur" but how can we grow if people don't commit to stands with the club??

To grow, we need numbers to build up club funds to buy equipment, but until we get equipment some member's don't want to attend. It's a catch 22 situation and we can only grow by living through the rough times together.

I'm sorry to rant, but I put a lot of time in behind the scenes here to book these things for everyone in the club, and people saying they'll come with us then dropping out to go with another, completely unrelated club, really pisses me off.

If you wanted the stand so bad, you could've setup the thread, you could've bumped it every couple of weeks to make sure everyone saw it and we got a good attendance, but no, it's left to me to deal with, and then have people (subconciously) tell me I'm doing a sh!t job.

I've had a busy year this year, but I've still found time to organise things, all for next to no thanks and I'm just about ready to jack it all in.

Haha mate jump off your high horse there mate.
I've never said you have done a jobby job and have certainly not implied it. If you are implying about drop outs to me for jap show sorry but my business comes first for promotional events
I've personally had a really busy year with having another baby, my business partner leaving. I could go on but let's not get the violins out
Yes there is 9 interested and we need 5. likely hood of getting the 5 before the closing date very slim and other groups closing dates are tomorrow or Sunday so if I hang on here then I could end up being parked in the public car park which means I won't bother going. I've also as others have put a lot of time money and effort into our cars this year and I want to show it. That the only reason I've joined with the ATR club for thi year

"Amatuer" riding in on the silver steed yet again. Get over yourself Gayno, if its not your way then everyone is wrong its a joke! People want to go to the car show. If their first choice club can't get it sorted or falls through etc what's the drokking problem with them going on another stand. We all have the same interests for God sake.

I for one have not been very active on here mainly due to your attitude and elitsim, it's not for me. I've made friends through this club for which i'm grateful.
It's a shame really.

Guys, chill.

Leaving other comments aside and just getting back to points about the stand for a moment...

It's worth pointing out that the stand for JF2 can't be booked unless people pay up for it.
Japfest and Japfest2 are different to Japshow and JAE, in that the club has to buy the tickets up front instead of just booking a stand and then people buying their own individual tickets.
He posted up asking for people to pay up, so he could book the stand. Has anyone paid up?
Those are the facts.

There is of course an option for 'the club' to pay up front, but the tickets are £13, so to book any sort of reasonable number, the club doesn't have that sort of funds. The organiser could pay up front, but if Gayno buys a batch of tickets up front, he risks either being left out of pocket if people then don't commit and pay, or letting people down by not buying enough and running out. Either way, he would end up in a lose-lose situation, so you need to have sympathy and understanding with that.

Now just to address a couple of the other comments made, without trying to be antagonistic;
GreenyUK wrote:People want to go to the car show.
Yes, but if they want to for this show, then they also need to pay up to make it happen.
If their first choice club can't get it sorted or falls through etc what's the drokking problem with them going on another stand. We all have the same interests for God sake.
Yep quite right, that is fair enough - I've had to do that in the past when previous lude forum stands didn't happen.
But it is not correct to say that this stand had 'fallen through'. The reason the stand hasn't (yet) been booked was because no money has been committed by members.
I for one have not been very active on here mainly due to your attitude and elitsim, it's not for me.
This is something I don't understand - this remains the least elitist forum I've seen, by a long way. If you have some examples that can be learned from, please pm mods and it can be discussed off-line?

This is also by a drokking mile the mainstream car forum with the least 'censorship' of comments made by members that I've seen. Baiting for a ban would get that exact response in many, but here it can be seen in the humorous way that I'm sure it is intended, for a start.

First off I was not "baiting" for ban why would i do that? I would achieve nothing but to waste my own time.

You also misread my friend. I did not say the club was elitist ;)

Now back to the stand. Yes it's booked different and it requires people to pay first, I'm sure a lot of people get paid at the end of the month so can't commit until then. So because one user decided he didn't want to risk not attendin the show due to the numbers not coming through, thus booking on another club in my opinion didn't deserve the rant from Gayno.

Its a tough situation to be in regarding the booking and the options to take. I took a risk with Atr forum and bought all the tickets so the club had a stand. I also would of done the exact same thing for this club if I'd have felt more involved from the begining.

Despite this I truly hope the club gets a stand. I like the club and still own my Lude. Which is now a track car

What would it take to make you feel more involved (that's a serious question)?
