That was unlucky with the genny this time round I think - they're pretty reliable things tbh.
There are also other non 'jap-only' shows we could go to as a club of course, so such things would get more use?
I should add that if my comments do come over a bit 'aggressive' to anyone then apologies - they're not actually intended to be aggressive or critical, or directed in any particular direction - they're just general comments saying it as seen really, off the cuff.

Unfortunately we have just paid out nearly £4000 to go to New Zealand so regardless of it being posted in November, we weren't able to come due to costs and other commitments. It's a shame we were unable to go this time. We will have to go next time and experience it. Sounds like you are both doing a great job. Keep up the good work

I would like to say that Mr and Mrs green you are part of the community and as so are deemed as friends. People have opinions and not all agree with all, all of the time. Expression of feeling is a personal thing and although meant well, text on a forum or the like can easily be misread or interpreted in the incorrect way as it was intended. I have met you both and have enjoyed your company. So please air your opinions.
Now as for club merchandise banners and hoardings, I am actually in talks with a flag manufacturer and have submitted my personal design that does feature the name and it looks amazing. Just waiting for the price. I already have a carbon fibre flag pole.

i agree, and am as guilty as the next person. things get left to slip, and when the next big show comes along we again have to rush about. gayno does a super job in organizing the meets and gathering the masses. @bludge does the stickers. just need someone to sort the clothing out. i think wurleycorner iain took over from rob but i do not know his progress nor am i critiquing it.
Right, all things considered and after enjoying my second JAE with this club, I have made a few observations of my own.
We do generally get by on the equipment that we have between us but some small improvements could be made in certain areas.
As much as I'm thankful for danny letting us use his BBQ it was a bit of a chore lighting it and tending to it all the time due to the nature of a charcoal BBQ. A gas BBQ would be much better suited to our needs and would be arguably cheaper to run. I'm guessing we used at least 4 bags of coal last weekend which would be roughly around £20. It would be interesting to hear from James to find out how much gas was used at the national meet for comparison.
The marquee. Our marquee at jae this year was of a very ample size for the amount of people in attendance. In fact it could have housed quite a few more if needs be. I'm not so sure how well we would have faired if we had anything other than a slight breeze or light shower due to it being two smaller units joined together. A single marquee rather than two joined together would have been preferable and potentially easier to erect. As for transport I'm not sure, this may be something we need to look in to.
Signage. The current lude generation banner, in my opinion, still holds it's own with other owners clubs. I think it could be applied slightly better and we could possibly have a duplicate made up for either side of the stand but I'm not talking rocket science here. I just mean get it raised up off the floor on some wooden stakes or something. That's all the bigger clubs have used.
I have no idea on costs here but could we not look into a self storage unit in a central location to all of the shows ? As for the BBQ we wouldn't need anything flash, a small portable gas BBQ would be fine and one of the smaller propane bottles. I guess everything comes down to cost at the end of the day and if there aren't decent numbers at the shows then it's not going to happen is it ?

Re: Lude Generation - Future Shows
My aim is to attend all our main shows next year, I really wanted to be at japfest I'd even bought my track time and then my mate announced his wedding date the muffin lol.
I have a small genny that I'm more than happy to let the club borrow as it came with the unit we took over in clevedon and we have only used it once so far.

I was working on having this sorted months ago (certainly well before jae!), but I'm still waiting for someone to send me the logo image files in the right format/size!honda-hardy wrote: just need someone to sort the clothing out. i think wurleycorner iain took over from rob but i do not know his progress nor am i critiquing it.
