Hangover from glass headlight days, I think most headlight lenses now are polycarbonate which still shatters but is probably a bit more resistant (@wurlycorner? Also this would explain why @K30DPC ruined his lenses cleaning them with petrol - hydrocarbons dissolve polycarbonate IIRC). Keeps your lights in one piece (if you know what I mean) and stops them falling all over the track (like if they get smashed by a stone or something).

You can completely cover them probably, you're not going to need them on unless it's massively pissing it down and you can't see jobby - in which case they probably wont let you out?

ok cool. i will go and hunt for some tape. also whats the deal with moving from the stand to the track? as the letter mentions track parking and stuff? (i really should have read all this sooner... :lol: )
