It does seems less responsive and sluggish, but I don't dare floor it knowing the knock sensor isn't working and with a CEL triggered. So, I think short slow journeys are OK, but a long motorway journey isn't in my car's best interests. Really drokking annoyed.Gayno wrote:Bad times man, but these things always happen at the worst times!
Does the engine go into limp mode without one, or is it still drivable?
Congratulations to vtecmec for winning May/June's Lude Of The Month, with his DIY Turbo BB1 build.

Knock sensor should only really come into play when accelerating, so motorway cruising should actually be fine?CARRisma wrote:It does seems less responsive and sluggish, but I don't dare floor it knowing the knock sensor isn't working and with a CEL triggered. The first two drives after fitting the new knock sensor, the CEL came on while at a constant 60 mph on the M23.wurlycorner wrote:Knock sensor should only really come into play when accelerating, so motorway cruising should actually be fine?CARRisma wrote:It does seems less responsive and sluggish, but I don't dare floor it knowing the knock sensor isn't working and with a CEL triggered. I am now the proud recipient of a gayno branded letter!
So pleased, I properly feel like I've lived now!!!
(ps yep that means tickets arrived, thank you ) they actually turned up on Saturday, but it seems the postie didn't fancy joining me in the shower in order to deliver them...

Ok, so spec sheets...
there are definitely people who will do a better job of this in the long run, but since they haven't yet had time, I've knocked a basic template up that looks like this when filled in;
I'm no designer and don't have access to anything fancy, so this is just put together in Word. (The colours and layout are supposed to look like the forum style )
Anyone that wants it, drop me a PM with your e-mail address and I can e-mail you the word document for you to fill in/print at home and bring with you.
If anyone can do anything better before tomorrow, please feel free!!!

I have an Infoboard Touch (http://www.ludegeneration.co.uk/prelude ... t1687.html) which displays and resets CELs. It is showing a problem with the knock sensor, from memory I think it was CEL 31, but I might be wrong.mercutio wrote:pull the code
Anyway... It turns out that the replacement knock sensor I ordered off eBay at the weekend is out of stock so the seller has refunded me. After a lot of phoning around this morning, only to be repeatedly told "computer says nooooooo", I've had to fork out £189.40 at my local Honda stealer! It should be arriving tomorrow and I'll fit it on Thursday after work.

Gayno, know what you mean and I sure as hell wouldn't for the street or a local car park but I think it's fine at shows like this. That's what they're about? All the info is available publicly in our profile build threads anyway and sadly (in one respect) I don't think Preludes or bits off them are anywhere near the top of anyone's shopping list these days... I like to see them as I'm going round, anyway - means you can appreciate what you're looking at much more and get ideas Like I say, it's there is people want it.
