 why are all the euro lude builds so much better than our apparently UK poverty spec attempts?

I do like the way that LG is fast becoming the defacto international lude forum though

What rear lip is that you have fitted? Is it the Accord one that's so popular in the states?
Also interested why fitted 5th Gen ABS? Does it offer any performance benefits, or was it more to do with where it fits/looks etc.?
Thank you guys! :)

LG has the most information about the ludes, lot of details over parts, tuning and build. I think this is why LG is more and more popular abroad.

The rear lip is a 4g front lip :) The ends are cut, the corners and the exhaust are corrected a bit with cutter and heatgun.

5g ABS has much faster response than 4g.
4g ABS is knocking slow and shaking the body when hard braking but 5g ABS is humming and adjust wheel lock much higher frequency thus car handling and braking is way better.
5g ABS modulates all four wheels independently unlike the 4g ABS which does the rear wheels together.
5g ABS is about 20lbs lighter and no need of extra brake fluid.
4g ABS has a PCV (proportioning control valve) for rear brakes which reduces the pressure when hard breaking to prevent locking. 5g ABS doesn't have this, the rear brake pressure is always the same as front so the front of the car does not tilt down so much. (but eating up the rear pads much faster!)

Personally the only reason why I changed it was its performance benefits.

Impressive info on the 5g ABS. Sounds like a good upgrade while keepng the car 'eom'... :hurr:

So what did you do to swap it over, literally take the entire system off a 5g donor and transplant it lock/stock into the 4g?
Did you use 4g original sensors and some/any of the 4g original wiring looms, or were they swapped as well?

What you need is the following:
- 5g modulator unit
- 5g ABS control unit (all units support 4WS)
- 5g connectors for modulator and control unit
- soldering gun, heat shrink tubes, special tools to remove pins from connectors, etc...
- tools for metal works, paint, etc...
- tools for replacing brake pipe nut

All other things are original 4g:
- wheel sensors
- ABS main relay (only one needed)
- wiring
- ABS motor relay
- fuses (values must be changed)
- brake lines
- ABS indicator (need to apply the 5g inverting electronics in the gauge)

Nice one.
So that's on the list for Lisa's car then, when it gets down to having a wire tuck etc. (not this year!)

Here is the Circuit Diagram of the conversion what I derived from Honda manuals:

The mechanical work can be seen on the pictures in my ABS gallery.

The circuit diagram and the pictures must be enough to do this mod I think :)
If you have any questions please feel free to ask!
