expanding foam really!!!!!! you know that stuff holds water don't you so your car will be totally rotten in a couple of months :roll:

It used to be that you couldn't have a hole on the floor or trunk pans because fumes could get in. A hole in the outer panel was okay as long as the inner panels weren't holed. Now they are tightening up on it. Any holes have to be patched. I used foam simply to pass the inspection. When the time comes it will be patched properly. Before putting the foam in. I doused the area inside and out with vinegar to kill as much of the existing rust as I could.

She'll be fixed properly some day. :)

Polyurethane expanding foam is closed cell, so it's waterproof/doesn't absord water.
(The closed cell structure will eventually start to break down and at that point starts becoming porous, but that's quite some time off). So thinking about it :? This is actually quite a good quick fix? :shock: If not the most aesthetically pleasing! :lol:

its closed cell as long as you don't touch it after its spreayed on the minute you cust it to shape it or remove excess its now open and will degrade and quickly
