You already know that i think its a total extravagance buying new wheel and tyres when you have so many sets sitting around your house not being used :x
but
now i have seen them 8-)
they are light but i was surprised at how well made they look and feel.
All in all they are a quality wheel made here in the UK :)

Only have the Boss wheels that came with the car and the ATS nims that fit, the Boss wheels have mega amounts off weights to balance them so I reckon there buckled or something, other two sets are 5 stud so no good, do agree tho its a bit extreme but I feel like this lude is the one to keep.

Gloss black.

I'll get other wheels checked to see if straight.

300mm brakes fitted

Post by newkid » Thu Nov 12, 2015 6:23 pm

Had a slight change of plans again

So last part I needed to complete the jigsaw was delivered this morning so set about getting the parts that have gathered up fitted.

Here was today's parts to be fitted :D

Image

Front comprises of Mtec 300mm EP3 discs redrilled to 4x114.3 and yellow stuff pads.
Rear comprises of Mintex discs and pads.

Fronts went extremely smoothly, old carriers, discs and pads were removed, 300mm carriers, new discs and pads were fitted.

Rear on the drivers side there was no problems but the passenger side was bad, no piston rubbers so was unable to wind it back yet it still braked and the handbrake still worked. Luckily I had a spare caliper so that was fitted at the same time.

To show the difference with the 282 v 300mm on the 16" Nims

Still room in there

Very close, luckily the new wheels are meant to be getting fitted on Saturday and I know they have more room for clearance.

Will need to fully bed the brakes in before I find out if it was all worthwhile

The VTTR 282 discs I bought I gave to @vanzep for all the help and time he has giving me over the years, hopefully we will see them fitted to his car soon ;)
