Nope, UPol 2k straight from my gun. 8-)
nucleustylzlude wrote:Also what's that green gunk under the rubber bungs you've reinstalled?
It's marine grease, I've wet assembled everything, once finished I'll give it all a good clean to remove any excess. Hopefully it should offer a bit of protection from paint being broken when assembling and water festering between items when on the road.

Finishing the belly of the beast

Post by Vtecmec » Sun Apr 21, 2013 8:29 pm

OK, so a bit more progress.

I’ve finished the floor off, it’s now painted, cavity waxed and the exhaust fitted.

Before painting I had to sort out some annoying little studs for the front of the large heat shield that had snapped off.

So I removed both remnants from each side.

Then sourced these from the internet, they’re stainless and used for cake stand displays.

No picture of them fitted, but some shots of the floor and heat shields.

I have the exhaust fitted too.

So I plan on giving it a good clean and starting it next week and then it’s onto the external bodywork.

If you were ever to roll that car and it landed on it's roof...wait for it...(not a nice thing to say I know)...but...you could quite happily eat your dinner off that!

As long as it's fish and chips thats ok.

Trust me though, the interior has 4 years of dust buildup, plus I plan on doing significant amounts of painting next week and need to get everything spotless beforehand. The floor is the cleanest bit of the car at the moment. :o

The paint arrived in the post this morning and I've booked next week off work......... :scaredtoss:
