@wurlycorner Morning Iain, nothing done as yet matey, had to deal with some bad news this end regarding a client. I've contacted that mob I was last with with a view to going over there Monday but as it's yet another 2 public holidays this week I may have to delay it another bloody week. Thanks for asking.

Hi matey, well last week was pretty awful as a client of mine was involved in a late night car crash. She was in the car with two of her mates, one died instantly, my client was pulled from the car in a critical condition and remarkably the other lady was unhurt. Although my client held on for a week she was too badly injured to pull through and passed away last Saturday. She was only 21.
The accident was because of another f**kwit Malaysian driver choosing to run a red light and smashed into them. I just wish I would get my hands on that muffin and I swear I would be more than happy to let him suffer the way Joey, her parents and brothers and sisters have suffered.

So it's been a bumpy few days my friend and sorry I had to share this with you.
My post below is trivial compared to what has happened but I wanted to share even more news about the backwards and forwards on the Prelude.
I'll drop you a note soon dear boy when my mood is a little more upbeat.

@wurlycorner Iain, I'm sorry to get onto you mate and I'm sure you're sick of my bleating and moaning but this morning I went to the Honda place to sort out the orange temp light issue armed with your info.
Here's their first attempt at a fix.
Image
Drove two minutes from the garage and the light came back on so I turned around and went straight back.
Here's fix number 2
Image
Guess what? Two minutes driving and it came back on.
Went back and (due to me being distracted with other things) they did another fix which I'm afraid I didn't capture.
Drove around the block four times and the light stayed off. Set off home and the F***ING LIGHT came on again.
I am sick of this bloody car Iain, it's bloody cursed and so, by the looks of it, am I.
What on earth I am doing wrong? I'm sorry to throw this on you but of course, if anyone else has an idea (including throwing the bloody thing off a cliff) then feel free to chime in as I think I've pushed my luck with wurly.
Just for the record, here's the front sensor thing.

Thanks for any help Gents.

Right.
Their first attempt is jobby, full stop.
Their second attempt is better, because they are using the original connector, but... Why have they left the original sensor connected? What are they doing adding extra bits of wire? Also it looks like they're just twisting the new wire around the outside of the old one and sticking insulating tape over it. 2 things wrong with that... Firstly the outer braiding is a screen, not the signal wire and needs to be stripped back to get to the central core. Secondly that's not the way to get a good connection, it should be crimped or soldered.
Thirdly, they haven't used a crimp ring connector to get a good connection to the chassis.

Do crimp connectors not exist in Malaysia?

How much does a jiffy bag cost to send from the UK and how long will it take? It looks like I'm best off making you up the wire myself, so that all they have to do is plug it in and tighten the nut down - surely they couldn't gentleman's sausage that up?

Morning Iain,
Because I was so mad with those dimwits I went to a local guy who has done some work on the Del Sol before. I asked him to jack the car up and let me take some shots of the THIRD attempt by Honda Morons of Malaysia inc. Here they are. I am right underneath the 'fix' looking directly upward at it. No doubt this will make you weep as well.

Here's another shot.

Iain, if you would do that for me I would be eternally in your debt. In fact, I will willingly pass Linda and her entire collection of saucy lingerie over to you to do with her as you please. Keep her as your slave/pet/plaything and enjoy.

Seriously, if you PM your details I will ask my brother to transfer the required amount as doing it from here means endless delays and coping with more of the local stupidity. Please Iain, make me the thing and you will make me one happy (ish) man. I say 'ish' because I haven't told you about the brakes yet.

Wow, these guys are good. I cut the connector off completely, unbolted it and the small bracket, threw that in the bin; then just crimped a ring connector to the wire and bolted that into the now blank space where the bracket previously sat.

Their third attempt is basically ok looking, providing they have stripped back properly to reveal the central core of the wire. They have there done what I said basically, except it should have a crimp connector on the end to make sure it gets a good connection to the chassis (bare wires under nuts don't make reliable connections).
