I'm back. Contain yourselves.

So finally, things happened.

Bought myself an intake. Never heard of it before but it's a DC Sports DAC, which sounded impressive enough. I know of DC Sports too so it was less of a risk.

Wheels. Work Emotion KR Cai. For £200, which made me STUPID happy. Genuine too. They were a bit tired but far from ruined, so I got them refurbished in a nice gunmetal grey. And treated them to a set of Paradas too. Yes yes yes, I know - they're awful in the wet. But I had them on the DC2 and they were fine, and in addition I buy tyres mainly on how cool the tread pattern looks so they fitted the bill well.

Springs were purchased, and fitted. Went for Teins in the end. Nice drop, but I still think it's too high, so I may look at coilovers as and when I can free up some cash to buy them.

Exhaust - got rid of the twin pipe thing. I hate them. I have no idea what this is but with the decat fitted as well, it's rather loud. Perhaps a bit too boomy but I'm getting used to it.

Because I like to throw money at cars I also swapped the frankly laughable paper cone speakers out and fitted Alpine all round to match the head unit. Installed the iPod too.

Few days ago I also fitted a new gaiter with red stitching as the old one looked a bit knackered. Didn't do too bad a job either even if I do say so myself. I did put a new weighted shifter on but I didn't like the look of it with the gaiter all floppy so put the OEM one back on.

Sunroof is still knackered and rusty. And leaks. I need a new one pronto. Even the drain holes are rusted away on the NS where it joins the pipe so I get a nice stream of water going straight onto the back seat when I pull away after it has been raining.

Oh and since the pics I've binned the front numberplate surround thing which IMO looked horrible.

Might even refurb the disgusting callipers next. Maybe.

Couple of pics for now.

Car looks great - love the wheels 8-)

I have a spare sunroof mechanism/chassis thing you could have that would solve this part of the problem (no panel though - well I do, but I'm not parting with it!). I was going to take it to the tip, so I don't want anything for it. It wouldn't post well though (weighs a bloody ton and would get bent easily) so are you heading up this way any time soon???

YES.

That would be awesome thank you. I head Essex way fairly regularly (originally from Harlow and my family are still there) so if you don't mind hanging onto it for a while that would be much appreciated.

In fact I think I'll be coming down for the Mimms/North Weald day if that'd be ok to pick up around that time?

Much thankings.

Sure, no probs hanging onto it.
:? Not sure how easy it will be to transport in a lude though, thinking about it? It won't go in the boot and it takes up basically all of the saloon interior length/width ways (unsurprisingly)

Looking great G. I'm surprised it's not sitting lower with the springs fitted... perhaps they're still settling in?

Ride height aside, those wheels look awesomeballs, as does the rest of the car! 8-)

These are good points, and one's I had failed to consider.

I might be able to pick it up and then dump it at my Mum's house in Harlow and then pick it up from there later rather than trying to head back up North with it poking in my head.

Thanks Grrrrrr.

Yeah I'm a bit disappointed with the springs to be honest. They've been on a couple of weeks now so I think that's as low as they're going to go.

Which means only one thing.

Coilovers.
