I may have misread somewhere or got mixed up. What would cause it to get stuck at one speed though? And then sort itself out?wurlycorner wrote:A 4g speedo is electronic, so I wouldn't have thought it would have weights.

Quite possibly what I had on my original dials - used to stick around that sort of speed in very hot weather, then throw a bit of a wobbler. Only ever did it on very hot days, so initially I thought it was a physical problem on the dials, but I couldn't confirm. Swapped them out for EL ones in the end.prahunt wrote:I may have misread somewhere or got mixed up. What would cause it to get stuck at one speed though? Either that or take a look at your VSS connections and wiring, the plug on the top of it can suffer a few corrosion issues etc.

Not an import so most likely a connector fault somewhere.mercutio wrote:is it an import? if so is the converter chip wired properly ? if not that what about the sensor on the gearbox?
I will try the VSS connections. Where exactly are these located? I'm planning to tackle this on Saturday.bennyboy wrote:Quite possibly what I had on my original dials - used to stick around that sort of speed in very hot weather, then throw a bit of a wobbler. Most if the time I fiddle with things not much happens...wurlycorner wrote:helpful merc... There are 2 of those such things
(the other being the reverse light switch - and fiddling with that won't do much
)

I will jiggle/poke/generally move about this to see if it helps. Typically it's all been fine since
