@wurlycorner Morning Iain, Jason says he can fix the O ring thing in a jiffy. I'm letting him do it next week. Interesting you say about that bloody hole because I asked him to 'earth' the wire thing (remember that?) as that's kept annoying me. However, he said those guys at Honda apparently did earth it and Jason thinks this hole may be causing the warning light to come on. Thoughts Iain?

From original it should have a rubber cover over the end, but that's not the end of the world, it's just the connection to it looks a little 'odd'. I take it the oil pressure light on your car works ok?

Can you help me out here Iain as I'm afraid I don't know what it is you mean. What is the oil pressure sensor? (Apologies for my ignorance)

Ahhh, okay. Is the cover that Iain mentioned a special Honda part or is a cover, a cover, a cover? Can I get one from somewhere else (or from an Accord or Civic etc?) or is this a fruitless search with Honda-bloody-Malaysia.
Just to clarify, there is no oil pressure warning problem with my car. Well, nothing's come on so I hope it's ok!

Cheers Mr @mercutio. You're a gent. I'll ask Jason to find something suitable from his boxes of bits.

If it's the cat temperature light that's on, fixing the hole will make no difference.

If it's the CEL that's lit, then fixing the hole could make a difference yes - the lambda sensor in the exhaust would be seeing the wrong mixture (too much oxygen in the exhaust because of the hole) which could put on a fault light. It could also cause the engine to run rich (increased fuel mixture) which would be adding to the build up of soot on the exhaust tips you mentioned the other day.
