Because it all depends what you are comparing them to? The M2B4 is still considerably better than the non-LSD standard box.
I've no doubt they're not as good as the U2Q7 etc, but there is still a marked improvement over the standard box.
I can really tell the difference whenever I swapped (I'll put that in the past tense, since none are currently on the road  ) between Lisa's BB1 (or my BB4) and my UKDM BB1.

Give it a bit more time thebus and you may decide to stick with it for now until a U2Q7 comes up as a bargain, or until you've sorted your other priorities on the car (rather than rush into the U2Q7 now).

I found the M2B4 worked really well on my bb1 track car.

It hooked up brilliantly in tighter corners.

Great memories!

The viscous diff in the M2B4 is certainly not as good as the other types of diffs, I am not a fan of it. IMO there are only 2 scenarios where the LSD in it will actually lock, a big mental wheel spin or a wildly understeering exit of a corner. The viscous LSD will only lock when one wheel spins in vast excess of the other plus (the most import part) it is not a torque sensing diff.
