No according to the times. Traction just didn't happen in the wet.

Honestly don't know what to do.

What a pita.

Sticking the A8 in there has got to be the way to go though, plus free solution.

Give it a few days to get over the disappointment but then stick with it, you won't find a better option than that.

I wouldn't expect the oil pump to have just failed like that, without starvation? That engine was quite long in the tooth Tbf (smoked like a bitch when dbo had it) so perhaps the bottom end just couldn't handle the updated clutch and the hard starts etc? (I assume you were giving it some proper punishment out on track?)

TBH the car felt savage when I drove it up the strip, 3rd gear especially. Yeah off the line was difficult but it was very slippy. There was some amount of wheel hop, it was screaming out for a traction bar ;)

I'd stick the a8 in there. It is not a difficult job. It should only take a weekend.

gutted for you Michael

but if you decide to carry on then you already have the parts needed to do a rebuild with upgrade to A8 engine and traction bar and mounts. 8-)

difficult decision as you have so much stuff for the lude still to go on - makes it even harder to walk away ......
