Re: ju5ta5 5g gold lude
I had my speakers and sub fitted for awhile now but sub only had a temporary box which was in the middle taking kind of all my boot space. Time for a custom build and decided to do it today
I had my friend to help and here it comes - started with measurements and materials:

And the work started. Drilled the holes so MDF wont crack and then it was a matter of gluing edges and screwing every 2-3 inches. Also sealed the inside corners. Picture without the front panel:

Decided not to have terminal as the bolts on the previous box were coming off and wires may just fall off one day. So done the wire size hole and got the wires directly from the sub to amp
(used a lot more NoMoreNails stuff as it has to be sealed from the inside and puting the front panel on, I would be hard to get the tube in the box)

Then cut out a hole for my 12" sub and put it all together. I had to relocate one of the antenna relay box or whatever that stuff is
It was hitting the box and I wanted the box to be at the far end as possible. No picture yet!
Originally I was planning to get a new carpet and fit around it, but then remembered that I had some boot floor carpet from a spare car which is thick enough and will match the colour.
Cut to size, left the corners to cover the corner bottom rounded areas and here it is, final result:

My 2 amps are fitted on the back of the rear seat which makes it easier to remove the box if needed, only need to take 2 wires off the box is off. The boot floor carpet is very thick which fits perfectly with the measurements done earlier it it squeezes tightly into the space.
I did not expect it to look this way, I am very pleased with the result and my first attempt doing the custom box

I had my friend to help and here it comes - started with measurements and materials:
- *My sub needs at least 30l box, I wanted to create something in the middle between rear suspension mounts and after 30 min of pure maths, we came up with 42l box measurements which should fit the space nicely
- *Got some 18mm MDF
- *Some screws
- *NoMoreNails glue and sealer

Oh, by the way.. The MDF board was quite big, so I had bits cut for 2 of those boxes, if anyone wants one, pm me.
I put the box up together leaving only the front panel off as you would need to cut the holes for your speaker/speakers. It is a sealed unit of 42L or you could make a vented box for a smaller speaker

Cool. You know a 30l box and a 42l box will sound different to each other though, right? Box volume should be matched to speaker spec really.. there are online enclosure dimension calculators to make sure your box is the right size (calculator). Still, nice tidy enclosure there mate.
You can also improve the sound that your subs make by bracing the enclosure internally and then filling it up with that hollow-fibre pillow stuffing (buy a couple of cheap pillows from Argos/Tesco and rip them open)

Re: ju5ta5 5g gold lude
yeah, I am planning to do some sound deadening as it will make probably the best difference.
Have you done yours? and to what level? doors boot, maybe all car?

No, not this car mate. I've had big ICE installs in previous cars and I put Dynamat (the best there was back then) everywhere. Try to turn your doors into as much of a sealed unit as you can with sound deadening and if you layer the stuff up, you get exponentially increasing deadening properties. The more you do, the better the sound will be.
