Yep, the rings can be a bit brittle after all this time though ime, don't always come off/go back on without breaking, so easiest just to find the right one to start with?

i see youve also bought another 4th Gen :)
whats the plans?

agreed about abs ones - ive tried to get the rings off one before and it was rusted solid-i guess some heat would free them up but its one less thing to do if i can get the right ones in the first place :)

cheers for the info merc ;)

Just noticed you got this.. :?

Looks like you have saved another and what a spec it's got out of the factory 8-) .. Good work on it too :)

Imo I think you should find some oe wheels and stick them on it to keep the standard looking theme going strong with this one..
Very nice car ;)

cheers @JEBB4 :)
its a big slice of Honda OEM goodness!
ive got a set of 15" oem fan blades that need a refurb but they are maybe just a bit on the plain side so ideally id like a set of diamond cut saw blades 8-)
im quite happy to run with 15" wheels

Thanks for the kind comments :)

Managed to get the cd changer fitted and the cable routed nicely from the center console to the dsp/head unit.
Just needed to put the double din dsp back into place and that would be it complete - but somehow managed to fit the double din upside down and its wedged in place - looks like i will have to take the whole console apart to get it out :suicide:
cant believe ive mucked it up at the last step

whew its all fixed now :)
had to take the front console apart to get it out-plugged it all back in and then the eq settings wouldnt come up - gave it a minute to warm up and tried again and this time they appeared - wiped the sweat from my brow and breathed a sigh of relief
gave it a blast of Hendrix and it does sound quite a bit better than the standard set up ;)
mega loud

i must go to Boots The Chemist and get my eyes tested this week :?

Re: 1991 JDM BB1 -CV Joints

Post by vanzep » Wed Feb 24, 2016 1:01 pm

I needed one CV joint in order to complete a full set of driveshafts so bought this off ebay - initial impression is the parts look to be of reasonable quality and good value for what i paid. The ebay seller even phoned to check reg and vin to ensure correct part sent.

Is the splined section shorter on the new one? I fitted one a while back and it is, so the nut does not go fully where I'd like.

Nope spline is the same length - only difference i can see is the thread on the comline one is a full thread and the thread on the oem one stops just before the spline section. ;)
The splines on the atr driveshafts i have here are shorter by 5-10mm so maybe you got ones that were for atr - a lot of sellers on ebay seem to say all H22 cv joints are the same which they arent.

Will post up once they are fitted
