I don't know what the vehicle checks are like over your way mate, but could you not just fit a rear fog light for whenever the car is tested, and remove it straight after? That's what I've done on my BB4

We don't require a rear fog at all over here. All the fanboys here want them because they're "so JDM", even if they don't hook them up.

Myself, I have an empty slot for a switch, and an extra brake light so I figured I would do something with it since I can't find the JDM piece that lights up green with the Prelude lettering in it.

I like the idea of a high-level fog light.

One 'Lude of mine passed its MOT with a fog light chucked in the boot as I wasn't prepared to fix it to my freshly painted bumper..
"Rear fog?"
"In the boot"
"Wires?"
"Yep"
"Okey dokey"

Car passed.

If has to be on the off-side of the car in the UK (specified in the vehicle type approval regs and MOT test checks)

By a stroke of luck, I found one of the illuminated JDM Prelude logos just listed on ebay. The FedEx man is on his way with it now. :D

I have seen pictures of them lit up, and it seems they come on with the parking/headlights? Does it get brighter with the brake lights? Does anyone have experience with these?

I'think I may still hook it up to the rear fog switch so I can turn it on and off at will. The law here is clear about vehicle lighting, and it doesn't allow anything other than red rear facing marker and brake lights, with red/amber blinkers. Though I have seen tons of people with blue license plate lights, and even these neon license plate frames in multiple colours (usually blue or pink). I have never seen anyone pulled over and charged for those, but me being an unlucky sorta guy, and the cops around here being dicks I'll probably use the switch to foil the fuzz.

As standard the prelude light comes on with sidelights (except it doesn't do anything on Lisa's, for reasons I still haven't got to the bottom of  )
