Since the last post I had dropped the exhaust and fitted the handbrake cable.

Today I finished attaching the handbrake cable to the calliper, cheers @wurlycorner for the bracket you kindly sent :)

I then refitted the rear heat shield which was a horrible job. There is still grit making its way out of my eyes from that bloody thing  Then I rehung the exhaust, which was hard work at first until I thought to break out the lube  with the use of two jacks and some grease it was actually fairly easy to get the exhaust rubbers back on the hangers!

However, my handbrake doesn't work :? I adjusted it inside of the car, and the cable is pulling the handbrake mechanism, but the disc can still be turned freely. I tried the brake pedal instead, and it's firm when you press it but the disc can still be turned :( Have I taken so long to fix my car that the brakes could have seized again?! :?

Going to have a read of the service manual in case I cocked something up...

New rear pads fitted, and my handbrake is working spot on :) I will finally get the back end of the car off of axle stands tomorrow afternoon, it's only taken a year or so

In the meantime I put the interior back together:

Sorted. Just got to fit the radio and ECU and the inside is all done.

I kept the foam seat bases in the boot whilst I had the car apart, and it's apparent that my boot leaks like a sieve. I've made a mental note to investigate this at some point in the near future.

Next up on my to do list is the offside outer track rod end, might get that done tomorrow if my trip to Kent in the morning doesn't take too long.

It was wet all over the shop, but the car is jacked up at the rear so it's hard to tell where it's coming from. I'll make new gaskets for the lights and then see how it goes from there.

Might just be condensation if it's been sat for a year.
Obv you know about checking the sun roof drains (assuming yours isn't a BB4  )

It's a BB4 with a sunroof (I literally checked the chassis plate just now so I'm not stitching myself up  ). I'm fairly certain I've unblocked the drains previously though.

Which part leaks, is it the washer hose joint itself, or the rubber seal under the base?

I don't think it was condensation as I had a dehumidifier in the car, and there was enough water coming from the boot that it had pooled where the n/s/r seat would be. Luckily there's a drain bung there.

I just checked back a page:

I should probably get some foam and sort those, they're obviously not helping. After that I'll see if I'm still getting any more water ingress.

Finally bought and fitted a control arm today:

Hopefully ready for the house move tomorrow, although I still have to put the rear of the BA2 together :?
