My 5th gens "refresh" :-)

Post by davey80y » Wed Jun 04, 2014 6:19 pm

hey all,

figured it was about time I actually put up some pic's of my car :-)

after spending the last few years driving diesel company cars I now been working through my car bucket list... and arrived at the prelude late last year here's the ebay pic's from when I bought it....

Image

Image

and the add

FOR SALE !!!

A Cracking example of this great looking Honda Prelude !!!

2.2 VTI engine with only 32500 miles on a brand new engine, Only 2 previous owners from brand new and both owners from same family who I know personally !!

Both cam belts changed only 6000 miles ago !!

Comes with four wheel steer, elec sunroof, elec windows, cruise control, PAS, Sports seats ALL LEATHER, Air con, remote central locking, height adjustable seats, 6 CD multi-changer stereo,

Stunning 18" ZCW alloy wheels with four mint tyres on them,

This car looks and drives superb for its year !!!

MOT'd till April 2014 no tax at present...

its had 74600 on the clock and the pic's really do make it look better than it was :-P it was also on 18's with the cheapest of poverty tyres complete with two of them having torn sidewalls so after a bit of haggling managed to get a vary good price without the 18 inch waggon wheels and on a completely feck set of blades with almost bald tyres :-P

Image

a quick vuisit to my local breakers netted me a set of messy CTR wheels with good tyres on for my winter wheels

Image

then it was back to fixing stuff..... 4WS wasn't working but no warning lights on the dash..... quick check revealed that.... you guessed it he'd removed the bulb :-P and also the ABS bulb which was also not working!! one replaced fuse and bulb later and ABS was working and a bulb + 4WS reset with a paper clip and everything was back working again result!!! gotta love Honda's :-)

also it came with this little performance beauty

Image

Image

which got unprecedented interest when i tried to sell it!?!?!

http://www.ludegeneration.co.uk/prelude ... 10516.html

and after replacing it with a stock intake made the car driveable again no more stalling when pulling away for me!!

the front seats were pretty well worn on the side bolsters and the gear knob and steering wheel were the same inc a big hole in the shift gaiter also the silver was missing on the door handles and had been replaced with some very natty silver tape....

decided that as it was winter the outside of the car could wait and bought bits for the interior so out with :-

gear knob
gaiter
steering wheel
leater seats

and in with :-

CTR gear knob
red stitch gaiter
CTR steering wheel
Type S seats

Image

all going well so far.....

then one winter morning Mrs car had a flat so she moved it out of teh way and needing to do teh school run took my car....... and drove it into out garden wall?!?!?

Image

nice way to start the day but it got worse her car then refused to start with a dodgy glow plug she tried a few more times.... flat battery :-( so new tyre new glow plugs and then turned out battery was fecked plus damage to my car all before i’d even got up :-(

and that pretty much brings us up to date just waiting for some nice weather then its out with the spray cans and fixing time!!

already done one wheel as a test

Image

Image

also bought a random orbit polisher that i couldn't resist having a quick play with....

before

Image

after

Image

(note the evil garden wall that jumps out and attacks preludes!!)

8-) nice.... Looking good, even if the wall did jump out and attack  I love your interior. I'm eventually going black with red stitching. I've got a few bits already (although just bought a full grey interior :? )

Nice work with the polisher. Only thing letting it down is that max power has been minimised!

I couldn't handle it not many people can :-(

did get my tracking done this week after my trip to the local Peugeot dealers for its mot which req two new track rod ends.... they said they thought the tracking was about right, but as they couldn't lock the rear wheels they couldn't be sure

to me it felt like the wheels were falling off so 1 trip to Honda later and....

Image

I know their used to working on French cars but 26' is maybe a little much even for them :-(
