Biggin up mi Lude

Post by Paul Phillipson » Tue Jun 24, 2014 10:45 pm

Hi all

Just joined n thought I would share my Lude n current mods. Got a green BB8 with 4WS, AC, Cruise etc. Bought for a steal as a non-runner after the local Honda garage told the previous owners they were going to have to spend alot of money on expensive parts to find out what was wrong with it. Deal done, shake of hands & 30-mins later running & driven onto the recovery truck & took it home. Recent upgrade to full leather (the beige velour was never my cup of tea). Balance shaft delete. Tony Banks custom exhaust including de-cat. Silly weights removed from engine & gearbox mounts along with the unnecessarily heavy impact suppression from the front bumper support panel. LPG conversion giving equivalent of 50mpg (pence/mile). Has done over 190,000 miles and I have 2 friends with EP3 CTR's who can't catch me in it. Love the Lude!!!
Yet to do - Colour change to high gloss black, Motegi 17inch alloys, Motegi front lip spoiler, de-locked boot lid with spoiler, lowered, stiffened springs. Make more power - not sure how yet as is also my daily driver!

Myself, a bit of a Honda enthusiast, also own a '93 Beat (new project) and a '79 Civic which is coming out to play this year with a B15 transplant to do before taking on the road. Gotta be quicker than my sons EG Civic.

For his EG we have just done a H22 JDM swap, balance shaft delete, HKS cold air induction, straight through 2.5 inch exhaust from front pipe to Civic 1.8 VTI back box (total sleeper), mated to an Accord Type R LSD box, DC2 ITR quick-shift rack n subframe with brace, DC2 ITR front & rear ARB's, BCR N1 spec fully adjustable coil overs, Prelude front callpers onto MGZR high carbon discs, DC2 ITR rear discs/callipers, Integra SiR Servo & Master cylinder n everything stripped out then the interior re-fitted (less sound deadening materials). The car weighs 940kg with 240-ish BHP.

So to get my Mk1 quicker I have a bit of work to do, but I have plans...

All sounds good :)

As you're clearly a transplant man, why not put the 'Lude on hold and stick a Fireblade engine in the Beat? :scaredtoss:

My lude is a bit rough n ready atm, a work in slow progress, I will post some piccies though!
Was thinking Blacbird engine for the Beat but then I bought her n looked n thought she's too nice, gotta be kept standard. I got my Mk1 to b*****dise. Once the B15 in & all the teething problems ironed out (there were a few with my sons swap) then looke to upgrade to a B18C.

8-)

Impressive list for a first post! :D

 Now we just need to see the evidence... :hurr:

;-) :D

Main dealer committing an old car to an early death because of 'loads of expensive parts needed' huh? There's a surprise...

If anyone is interested in a Beat for the summer I know of an excellent example of one taxed and tested that's up for sale, I hope to get mine into a similar condition.

Oh & how do you upload images onto here???
