Sven's Prelude

Post by Sven » Mon Jul 07, 2014 10:52 pm

So I just registered here and already introduced myself. (http://www.ludegeneration.co.uk/new-mem ... 13130.html)

The first mod I did, was ordering the honeycomb grill from the US. Visually, it's such a big difference with a nice grill imo.
Then I saw a guy selling his replica lip kit really cheap (front, sides and rear), so I bought that for 150 euros (119£)

He was dirty when I took that pic, I know.
But then I was so stupid to mount the front without fixing it properly, just for the view. So I completely forgot about it, went for a drive when suddenly the lip came off, with me driving over it. It broke...
From that day, I said: "Search for the OEM ones dude!"

Then I decided to paint the 'H' logo's in gun metal, with plastidip. And for a clean look, I pulled the 'honda' name and 'VTI Vtec' off the trunk. It looks like this:

Nice and Shiny :P

The next thing I wanted to change was the rear deck. It had a 3rd break light, but since mine is in the spoiler, i didn't need it. So I bought the fabric to put on a sub box, and I fitted it over the rear deck. I did a pretty good job I think. :D

Meanwhile I started to hear a rattling and a puffing sound from underneath the car. I went to the garage and they said my downpipe was leaking exhaust fumes, the flex piece was f*cked and there was a piece in my cat on the loose -> rattling sound. They gave me the price to fix it. Of course they wanted to sell me all the pieces brand new, but that would cost me over a 1000£. Luckily, near my hometown there is a garage who helped me with my problem. I had to buy a new downpipe and they took out the piece that was partying in my cat. Problem solved for a third of the price at Honda.

The next mod:
Originally I had the round fogs, but I wanted some JDM ones. A guy sold them to me for 59£. They are OEM. Me very happy :D .

2 weeks ago I won an auction on ebay for some JDM door sills. Paid 36£ for them. A real deal. The sad part is that i'm still waiting for them to arrive.
The same day I bought some OEM carpets. They fit so well, and I always want to put my shoes out before stepping on them for not ruining them. But you can't drive safe with y'a shoes out

The last mod I did was this weekend; painting the rings chrome in the cluster.

So that's it till now. The bigger mods will come....
cheers

Love the depth of shine in the paint. Nice work on the dial rings. What did you use?

Thx for the reactions guys :D
Also, I just waxed my car on those pictures
I'm really thinking of redoing my paintjob, I have the wellknown problems of the rusty rear arches, and some scratches on the front bumper (previous owner, I swear).

I just used 3 coats of chrome paint.

Cheers

It's been two weeks now since i bought the jdm doorsills, and i'm still waiting for them to arrive. I bought them from a UK seller and he shipped it with royal mail standard parcel, so there is no tracking number available. I really hope that they arrive because it's really hard to find these (for such a low price). I have to wait 20 days to do a lost-claim. Maybe they're stuck at customs, thought they were ninja swords :D....
Either way, fingers crossed, I really want these mofo's bad!
