Hello guys maybe I can clear things up with the dizzy question. It's the original owner here.

Old dizzy failed (but appears not to be the actual coil) but could be one one the components. Whatever, it's tested as not producing a spark (albeit with the age old leads - sorry)

Rude - thats the one in the box btw

So I sourced this - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221165273272

It worked but gave me a misfire, not that noticable at low revs but it was there > 3500rpm

The coil in the new dizzy failed again and I had a new coil put in. However the new one lasted even less time and thats when it was mothballed.

Ps - I've tried another cap so it's not just the cap (although it should really be changed) but you might want to try a new rotor arm and the leads of course (not tried)

Pps that is the original cap that's on now - the blueprint ones are rubbish IMO

Ppps the spark plugs are very recent so I would keep them for spares?

Hope helps.

Quick update, looks like a dizzy might be the culprit! Hopefully a new one and it fires up.

In the meantime a few issues resolved:
1) dodgy passenger door glass has now been correctly fitted so no Sellotape needed
2) the floppy broken wing mirror has been replaced with a
A working folding mirror
3) boot now has a replacement boot lock fitted, again no cover needed to stop rain
4) loose drivers interior door trim correctly fitted.

Not bad going considering I'm based in NYC project managing this....hah hah

And a Health report by Richard B formerly Head Of Tuning at
motor-Tec in B'ham before they shut up shop. He has su

All 4 wheels been raised and car health has been assessed. It's a genuine car with no visible indications of impact anywhere.
The double "ball joint" suspicion is there indicating a correct type s.
Engine oil, gearbox oil is at correct levels now. Engine oil was overfilled.
Atts fluid will need to be checked when on a ramp.
Active Abs looks correct.
interior is in very good condition with original mats etc.

I feel happier as had a good health report with a few minor things to do before MOT.

Quick update; after various testing by Richard my mechanic, he identified 2 threats causing the car not to start, ECU or Distributor (not just the cap). Ratty also suggested dizzy as the ECU rarely fails on Hondas.

Got a dizzy and It's on it way thanks to Crankmaster, who had it left over when he broke his type s.

Will it start...? Stay tuned...... Lol

The type S is alive and roaring :D It was the distributor.
Took a while to get it to start due to lack of compression but after 20minutes it fired up. Needs a new battery now tho and the rear discs and pads need changing. Then Mot time.
