Arrrgh, that is a total arse, sorry to hear that. Shocking when people do that
Overall, the rest of the car looks good though tbf? Plus it's an a8 and about as late a model as they come, so has plenty of plus points saying worth repairing and hanging onto...

Pics of the rust/holes?

Heres some of my woe, the car's with a garage at the moment so cant get anymore pictures till the end of the weekend.
According to the car dealer i don't know anything about cars and old cars rust. But i fail to see how it could have been perfect 12 months ago and now rusted so badly.
Also you can see on there the resin crap that the mot garage have peeled off to reveal the rust underneath.

MOT garage took those pics, it looks like inside the arches if you are at the back of the car looking to front of car.

Yeah I agree that's exactly where it is by the looks.
Tbh though, that really doesn't look too bad, looking through into the inner sill. That should be fixable relativity cheaply I would say. Get it done by a body shop though, not an mot garage (butcher welders!)

Thanks @wurlycorner that makes me feel a bit better.
If anyone can suggest a good bodyshop close to Glossop that would be ace.
It's stored at the mot garage at the mo, as i don't have an off the road place to store it.
I will need to recover it wherever it goes as tax and mot and insurance lapsed. (i assume i cant drive it on the road)

Ahh that' rust is no big deal mate, I had to do my BB4 in the exact same place, did mine myself, was pretty simple and shouldn't take a good welder more than an hour to do both sides and seal the patch ;)

Ahhh mate, sorry to hear about this.
Especially after all those upgraded part purchases.

I agree with the folks, its an A8 and def worth saving and get proper body shop peeps to repair it as mentioned.

Hope you get this sorted :)

Hello All

Thank's for all your help over the last year and a bit, it has been an awesome experiance and the prelude has served me real well. Thank you also to all the parts they really made the Prelude my own for a while.
I did end up fixing the rust on the lower quarters and the car got its self a clean mot, giving me another 8 months worth of fun driving in the peaks and about snake pass. But now with the arrival of my baby in Feb the preludes days were numbered

It has now gone to a new owner, so i hope it brings them some joy too whatever they do with it.

I have some 5th Gen bits for sale on here if anybody is after some fun stuff .

Onwards and upwards to my new love.. a 1999 Pirates Black ATR :D :vtec:
