Thanks very much for the replies, lads. I ended up going straight for the nuclear option with the rear arches. They were too far gone to repair. I found patch panels online and bought them. I'm not gonna put them in my myself though, that's way above my pay grade.

Just to add (I have been meaning to do a separate post on this) I recently bought a new driveshaft from them, for my C5.

Was dubious considering the low price, but it arrived in under 24 hours, fitted perfectly, works perfectly and in comparison to chinese ones I've fitted previously, it uses branded bearings for the intermediate shaft (where the chinese ones use unbranded and I've had one completely fail within 2 years) - so that does also speak well for the quality.

They're UK based and have a 3 year warranty, so although I haven't bought a lude shaft from them, I definitely recommend.

Finally got down to my lock up today for a couple of hours and got a few bits done.
I'm hoping to get out for a good spin tomorrow.
Has anyone here had any bad experiences with ethanol fuel over the last while? It was made mandatory here a few months back and lots of classic car owners are grumbling about it. I know it's hydroscopic and it's very bad for rubber fuel lines too. I've been using an additive but my Lude hasn't been started in a couple of months now and I reckon it's gonna run like a bag of spanners.

The problem is that the classification of cars being suitable for e10 only relates to direct fuel system components. However, fuel vapour gets everywhere.

My wife's civic (2017 1.5t) is e10 compatible, but that didn't stop the pcv breather pipe from disolving as it wasn't rated for petrol (the car does have an oil dilution with fuel issue).

I don't put e10 in the lude. I'm sure it'd work fine, but it's the knock on issues you can't predict. If you have no choice you have no choice I guess...

I run on e10, I had the car mapped on it too. I've had no issues, all my hoses and seals have been replaced in the last 5 years so that probably helps. It's nice being able to rock up to any petrol station and fill up

I reckon I'm gonna have to go through my fuel system and future proof it now by the looks of things.

There's not much to it really, a few small pipes on the feed and return hoses near the tank, the same at the engine end and (maybe) the injector seals; though I think they'd be OK to be honest.
