So a couple more updates from the weekend.

Poly bush front mount fitted:
Old;

You can see the mount was badly split and was rocking onto the stops top/bottom. New exhaust prompted me to get off my arse and do it at last!

Mounting bolts for the mount bracket had been bodged before. Mix of washers/no washers and one was cross-threaded :roll:
Image
Managed to re-cut and re-tap the thread ok on that one and standardised the washers.

New mounts;

:facepalm: I forgot to take a pic after it was all back together :roll:

Done a few hundred miles like it now and I must say this is a mod I should have done to my ludes years ago! Doesn't cause any extra vibration but the engine is nice and tight on pull away/gear change now. Need to do the back one when I get time, to finish the job.
It's an easy job really, jack/block of wood under the front of the gearbox to take the load off the mount undo 4 bolts, remove bracket, slip the 2 polybush halves over each side, refit bracket, do up bolts, remove jack, job done!
Ok access to the bolts in a fully OEM lude is awkward/very awkward to the through mount bolt, but this is a damn site easier than also having to undo the bottom 3 bolts to replace the mount complete and will last longer!

Lisa fitted her new badge;

Blown bulb indicators from the 'new' rear lights were incompatible with the car throwing blown bulb indicator on the dash when there wasn't, so swapped the backing assemblies complete (back to originals but with orange bulb and keeping the new exteriors) and all now ok again;
Image
Why on earth are there differences/incompatibilities in such a simple component?!

Also fitted the new fuel filter that I'd had rolling round in the boot for about 5 months.
Surprised at what came out of the old one! :o (the rust flakes not the bolt :roll:)
Image
The fuel had caused the paint on the old bracket to blister so the job turned into a quick bracket re-furb;

Meh! It's a bracket...

Fitted;

Not the most exciting of weekends, but all needed jobs and well pleased with the front mount - possibly the best £30/half an hour that could be spent on a 4th gen???

That is the one I am interested in, I am about to fit the inserts. I take it they were easy to slide in. Did you ram any sikaflex in there as well?

They're an absolute piece of body lemonade to put in, literally just pushed into place with no real force.

I didn't use any sikaflex, no - there's no chance of them coming out because of the mount bracket.

It's stopped raining now so I'll pop out and take a pic, hang on...

EDIT:
Pics. Obviously this is after the mount bracket has been refitted too.
Side on, looking from battery tray side

@gordonlear

You can get them other places, but funky power was the cheapest when I looked.

http://www.funkypower.co.uk/catalogue.p ... SERTS&man=

It says call for stock, but when I rang they had them in stock and sent them out that day. It was a little while ago I bought them. £39 instead of £30.

Good work.

You should notice a bit more in the way of vibrations after fitting the rear inserts. Unfortunately its a bit more tricky than the front to fit. :D

Yeah I checked them too at the time.
Either funky power have put the price up a little bit, or it's cheaper after P+P were added :?
Definitely check 'em both out
