Just replying to your PM now Anthony - not the answer you want though bud.

And that sleeved block was a good buy indeed! £750ish for that is amazing. Did Bisimoto donate them a block or something because of the mess up? Very jealous indeed!

I feel your pain on the spending, my parts list (an associated cost spreadsheet) should be binned - makes me cry everytime I look at it!

Does it include the storage overheads? :poke:

(nb: I shouldn't comment, I think my longest stored car has been in storage now for...  16 years  )

Can anybody recommended a good mineral oil to break in my engine? And rob, in the crate where the bare block was in was a paper with tips to break it in properly and 2 values i shouldn't exceed, 80 psi of boost and 1300 engine horsepower :p

Is that all? So you'll stick to a reserved 70psi then! Ha!

Golden Eagle blocks are one of the best out there. What I'd potentially look at if I go further, just Mahle golds would be cheaper.

As for mineral oil, no clue, never had a freshly built engine. Not many on here that have. :?

I have, but couldn't tell you if Rich used a mineral oil for break-in. It uses 0w-40 fully synth though if that's any help :?: :?

Last engine I rebuilt (not an h22), I still used magnatec in it for the first 500 miles change.

Wel in the paper from golden eagle, they strongly insist on using mineral oil for the first 3000 miles

Definitely go with that then, just use any decent brand, Shell, Mobil, Comma etc. and you won't go wrong?
